Cost and Pricing Level I
This workshop provides eligible small disadvantaged business owners with a solid foundation of cost accounting principles for federal government contracting.The workshop instructs the small disadvantaged business owners on how to design an adequate accounting system for tracking and recording information properly. Additionally, the workshop will provide information on the importance of indirect cost and indirect rates and how to utilize them in a structured accounting system. Other topics will include; labor and timekeeping, auditor guidelines, DCAA audit concerns, retention of records guidelines, profit limits, key resources and defining allowable and un-allowable cost and delivery material. All designed to prepare the small disadvantaged business owner with the basic knowledge and foundation needed for seeking federal government contracting opportunities.

Cost and Pricing Level II
This workshop provides eligible small disadvantaged business owners with detailed information on what a properly structured accounting system should look like for their small business.This workshop addresses the more detailed areas of an accounting system such as; indirect cost for onsite detailed tracking , offsite detailed tracking, manufacturing, engineering, material handling, indirect rates, job cost, payroll systems and cost allowability for the small disadvantaged business owner. The workshop will also include cost proposal preparation, how to project indirect rates for cost proposals, a discussion of key audit clauses, contract compliance guidelines, profit guidelines and a presentation of key resource data information.

Financial Management for the Small Business
This workshop discusses the critical financial management issues and regulatory requirements facing small businesses. Moreover, participants will learn the fundamentals in preparing effective and compliant cost proposals in response to government Request for Proposals (RFP’S).You will learn the difference between employees and independent contractors and the costly impact that can occur if not handled properly. This training also covers contract records retention, cash flow management, how to obtain financing, and the salient features of the Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act. You will review the procurement process, learn required terminology and the “how to” of preparing cost proposals using examples and practical exercises. In essence, you will learn how to mitigate risk to your business and maintain financial stability for you and your employees.
